F1® Delta Time — Scalability and Gas Solutions Phase 1

We recently announced our solution for the current ETH price and the current Ethereum Gas fees linked to this, with our planned move to Polygon (formerly Matic). With this move, we will be bridging the REVV token along with all of the F1® Delta Time assets. Our aim is to begin with the 2020 Keys. Players will be able to take their Key over to Polygon, and open the Key at a much smaller fee than what is required on Ethereum. After this, we will be moving gameplay modes, as well as the larger rewards and claim system, increasing total efficiency, and lowering the bar of accessibility.

But this is a long term solution, with the full move to the sidechain expecting to take several months for all features and functionality to be released. Although we still aim to have initial functionality within around 6 weeks.

We know we have players holding onto Keys, waiting to open them when the cost is efficient, or for the move to Polygon. And although the move will be a solution to this, we still want to allow our players to begin playing and competing as soon as possible.

With this in mind, we’re announcing a new initiative, in which a new token will be generated. For convenience, we’ll refer to this token in this article as “GAS”. GAS is generated when players interact with any of the F1® Delta Time contracts (and future REVV Motorsport contracts). For example a purchase for a gameplay ‘try’, a marketplace transaction, and gameplay modes which have on-chain interactions.

The type of interaction will generate a relevant amount of GAS for the player, with this GAS ultimately being swappable for the opening of Keys (and later, perhaps more). This GAS is generated for the player, and then banked for claiming at the convenience of the player.

While this GAS system is being developed, we’re looking to start assisting our players even sooner, by subsidising 2020 Common Key openings for players.

If a player opens a Common Key, and they submit the transaction to use through this form we will reimburse the gas fee that was paid by the user during the transactions (relative to the average and recommended gas cost at the time of the transaction itself).

Initially, this first initiative is going to be open to only Common Key openings, and to a single Key per-registered user.

How to Claim

  • Once you have opened a Common Key, send the transaction URL from Etherescan in using this form: F1® Delta Time — Common Key Transactions
  • Provide your F1® Delta Time account
  • The gas will be reimbursed to the same wallet address that opened the Key in the from of REVV

This initiative is initially for Common Keys only from the 2020 season, and is set at 1 per-user. You must also have an F1® Delta Time account to be eligible.

We will also back date to March 1st 2021 of Common Key openings, and provide REVV equivalent to the Gas fee paid at the time of the opening.

Another Token: What Does this Mean for Apex Shards?

Although we haven’t shared any additional information since the first announcement. Apex Shards are still part of the longer term ecosystem. And will become a core asset in the acquisition of Apex Tier content in the wider REVV Motorsport platform.

Stay tuned for more information on this in the coming weeks.
